According to The Corporat Secret , the pursuit of individuals linked to the ruling party continues to gather momentum. Political secretaries who have been outspoken in their criticism of the Madani Government are now firmly in the crosshairs.
Most recently, the names of Datuk Mohd Razlan Muhamad Rafii, Political Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister, and Datuk Mohd Rafi Ali Hassan, UMNO Labuan Division Chief, have once again drawn attention following claims that both men may be detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) this week.
According to sources, the development is believed to be connected to investigations into the procurement processes of several rural infrastructure projects under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), particularly those in Sabah.
As of the time of writing, however, SPRM has not issued any official statement confirming that Razlan or Rafi will be detained, remanded or charged. Internal information from within SPRM nonetheless indicates that the two leaders are on the commission’s list of targets.
The issue surrounding KKDW projects in Sabah is not new. In February 2024, a local blog published allegations of interference by interested parties in the selection of contractors for rural infrastructure projects said to be worth more than RM2 billion in total.
The report linked Razlan and Rafi, together with Datuk Jamal Nerubi and the then Secretary-General of KKDW, in collusion with Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun, who is now Chairman of the Election Commission (SPR). They were alleged to have exerted influence over the arrangement of contractors and the conduct of the procurement process for KKDW projects in Sabah.
According to the report, 76 projects were identified, while 98 companies were said to have passed the pre-qualification stage. All the tenders were allegedly arranged by Razlan, Rafi, Datuk Megat and Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun.
